This is my personal site—my home base on the web, and a place of congregation. Visitors are welcome 24/7, and free to stay as long as they’d like.

I bought this domain as a teenager, when I was convinced I’d soon achieve mononymous fame. I use my full name now, but improving this site through the years has been a nice way to take care of my childhood self.

Today’s version of the site, as specified below, should represent me (Asher) publicly, but also be an enjoyable space to return to at times.

• Simple: The machinations of this site should be kept to their bare functional minimum.

  This means no unnecessary programmatic optimizations (and that the site is fully functional without JavaScript).

• Narcissism: It’s my site. If I’m not having fun, something is wrong.

• Local: I have no aspirations towards scalability. The site should cater well to its frequent and expected visitors.

• Imperfection: Just doing the thing I guess. It doesn’t need to be the perfect version. That’s the beauty of a website! I can change it whenever.

The site is powered by the Eleventy static-site generator. It’s awesome, and is more than enough for my use.
